A chaque fois que je vois ce genre de chose, je ne peut m'empêcher de penser que là, il y a eu une maison avec ces habitants, de la vie et de me demander où sont ces personnes maintenant.

It looks to have been like that for some time but it really is so odd that the traces are left there like an epitaph ! You were probably forced into the angle by the space you had to work with but, in fact, it adds a lot to the message.
